This Steam Launch was produced in the 1920's by Hobbies Bowman from a design by Geoffrey Jenkins.
She is one of a range of steam, electric, and rubber band launches they sold during that period.
We do not sell many steam yachts and do not claim to be experts. We believe this example to be a "Miss America". A copy of an advert from 1925 is shown which was copied, with thanks, from British Toy Boats by Roger Gillham.
However, if we need to be corrected please do not hesitate to get in touch.
She is in great condition for her age with cream topsides and green below the waterline. The paintwork appears to be original and is in good condition with just a few areas of paint loss on the hull.
The steam plant appears to be complete but please be aware that this launch is being sold as a decorative item. We do not guarantee that the plant is complete or working. It has not been tested.
It still has its original burner.
Geoffrey Jenkins is rightly known for the excellence of his designs and his steam launches are now very collectable indeed.
The stand is not as old as the boat but is included in the sale as it sets her well for display.
