This pond yacht is based on a 19th century long keel clipper bow design. Her name is Lily of Rye. Rye is one of the cinque ports and in its day an important fishing and trading harbour.

She was carved from solid pine, hollowed, and fitted with a separate deck. She has a wonderful wine glass hull shape. Amidships there is a removable deck hatch. There are also 2 other original hatches/companionway amd 3 original horses.

The hull is in good order for her age and she has her original paintwork of black with green below the waterline. There is a hand painted gold coachline and decoration. There is a large toerail.

The original rudder is still fitted.

Obviously she does not have a rig which would have been gaff schooner with a large bowsprit with 2 or 3 foresails. This would have given the yacht an overall length of around 30 inches.

Please have a good look at the photos as they form an important part of the description. If you require any more then please do not hesitate to ask.

A large but very worthwhile project whether it is for display or a full restoration.
