This Alexander is totally original but is in need of some renovation.
The colour scheme, of red varnish above the waterline, is associated with Bassett-Lowke, however there is an Alexander & Sons sticker just aft of the mast. It is unusual, one we have not seen before. Alexander normally used transfers so this could be an early model.
The varnish is badly marked so it maybe that the hull would require a revarnish. The hull itself is in good condition.
The deck will also require revarnishing. All the fittings are original including the braine steering. The sheet horse is original but will need to be reattached.
The spars, hooks, bowsies, and the sails are all original. The sails are in generally good order but there are a couple of holes in the mainsail.
This Alexander is a very pretty yacht which could be cleaned and displayed but could also benefit from a restoration.
