Beken of Cowes is one of the most famous of all maritime photographic dynasties. They have been producing the highest quality of sailing images for over 150 years.
This photo (serial no 30253) was taken during Cowes week 1950 and shows racing yachts St Barbara, Cynthia, Northele, and Yeoman passing the battleship HMS Vanguard.
The photo has its description and signature in the usual white ink. It appears to have been reframed in the 1970's. There are 2 small creases in the bottom right hand corner. Otherwise it is in lovely original condition.
Original Beken prints are now highly collectable especially with such a vessel from a bygone age.
