The Arctic Star is one of the SB (Super Bermuden) range of Star Production pond yachts. This was the premier range of post war Star yachts as the models were fitted with an automatic steering system.
This particular yacht has the square transom and blue sails indicative of a late production model.
She has never been sailed. In fact the first time she was rigged was when she was prepared for these photographs. The shrouds were still tied in hanks as they were when she left the factory. She has been in her original box all her life and consequently is in superb original condition.  
The paintwork is all original and the keel, rudder, and rubbing strake are picked out in blue to match the sails. The bow and deck transfers are all perfect.
The deck has its original varnish and does not have a mark on it. All the deck fittings are original and in great condition.
The rig is all original with all the hooks and bowsies you would expect. The sails have some very faint areas of discolouration but are basically as they were when they came out of the factory. The mainsail stamp is perfect.
The stand appears original but could be reproduction. It is included  in the sale.
The box is original and in very good condition with a Star Production label on the end. 
All the larger Stars are becoming very difficult to find and therefore are more collectable as time goes on. 
Due to this yachts condition and originality this is a very rare opportunity indeed.
