This model of the Cunard Liner Queen Mary was probably made in the 1950's. It is rather unusual as it has been made as a childs "pull-along" toy pond yacht.

The model was made using bread and butter construction, then hollowed, and a deck and superstructure fitted.

The paintwork is original.

It has a quick/easily removed fitted keel with a lead insert.

The model can be displayed without its keel or with the keel fitted a child can pull it along the side of the pond.

The model has a bakelite reel with a leash.

The model itself is a little primitive and has some distressing. There is also a little delamination of the bread and butter construction. Please have a good look at the photos as they give a very good idea of its condition.

It is unlikely the masts are original.

The stand is included in the sale but is probably not as old as the ship.

This model is quite delightful and would display well. It has obviously been "sailed" in the past and perhaps could be again.
